Centenary Bank Donates UG Shs 10 million To Lira Diocese

Centenary Bank Limited has donated 10 million shillings towards the refurbishment and enlargement of Lira Cathedral Church as an activity to mark Lira Diocese’s Golden Jubilee in 2018.

Lira  Bank branch Manager Sam Ebinu on Sunday delivered the dummy cheque to the Vicar General of Lira Diocese Rev. Fr. Desiderius Pule Olima before the congregation that had turned up for the Sunday Christ the King mass that was also animated by the staff of Lira Centenary Bank branch.

 Mr. Ebinu said as part of its commitment in transforming lives in Uganda, Centenary Bank continue to support various community projects including church construction, health, education environment and other social services.

He said the bank is proud to associate itself with the development of Lira Diocese where over 48,000 of its customers are scattered in the districts of Lira, Dokolo, Amolatar, Oyam, Kole, Alebtong, Apac and Otuke, making Lango Sub region.

Ebinu said the 10 million Shillings donation is a modest contribution out of the one percent profit which is yearly given back to the community.

He encouraged the Youth to approach Centenary Bank to access their money that the government entrusted with the bank to be given out as loans.

Ebinu said the bank with over 1.5 million customers partnering with 69 branches and 172 ATMs countrywide plus Center Mobile and Internet Banking will soon be rolling out Agent Banking to save the people from walking long distances from home to the bank.

The donation was   in fulfillment of the pledge made during the fundraising function in lira town last Saturday.
