Gulu Resident District Commissioner Capt Santo Okot Lapolo has thrown his weight behind the contentious age limit bill that is aimed at removing article 102(b) to allow people below 35 and 75 years of age stand for presidency, Mega fm reports.
Lapolo says the youths should not oppose the bill saying they will benefit the most from it.
He added that the government is not pushing for Museveni’s life presidency but the citizens that enjoy his leadership. He also noted that the contentious bill is not aimed for president Museveni only but for all Ugandans.
Lapolo also warned youths from Northern Uganda against holding demonstrations denouncing the bill saying it is counter productive.
