Morris Odung Omara, the former Lira municipality mayor has clarified on the UN job that was earlier reported that he acquired.
Last week, news broke out that Odung was given a new job as the UN humanitarian Affairs officer, and that he’ll be stationed in Hong Kong, China.
Speaking to journalists on Monday at Pacific grand hotel, Odung confirmed the report but was however quick to add that he is yet not in position to confidently say he has the high ranking international job because all paper work for the recruitment is yet to be completed.
“Yes I’ve done a few interviews, but I can’t say I already have the job”- He said.
He noted that once everything is clear that he will be traveling to Hong Kong, he will let people know. He however thanked well-wishers who he said has since been giving him congratulatory messages.
Odung concluded that currently he is still committed at Team University Lira where he offers his professional services of lecturing and coordinating.
