RDC Lapolo Wants Night Clubs To Start Supporting Churches Financially

Gulu Resident District Commissioner Okot Santo Lapolo wants night clubs to advance part of their dividends to churches and mosques saying the entertainment spots make more money than the faith based organisations, according to media reports.
Lapolo asked the proprietors of the bars and clubs in Gulu municipality to consider helping the churches through constructions and funding church activities.

Gulu hosts the largest number entertainment spots in Northern Uganda where party goers flood for drinks and happenings. Most popular ones include: Smiling Panda, Bjs, Alobo, De Link gardens, Pier A2, Alobo and others.
Juma Okot, the proprietor of Da Link gardens welcomes this,  saying it’s a good idea but asked the RDC meet them and expound more on the proposal.

It is however unclear whether the churches will accept the donations from night clubs since the profits they make from certain products are against some of the things some churches preach against.
