Ex UPC Chairman Edward Rurangaranga Has Passed On

Uganda People’s Congress party -UPC stalwart, retired Major, Edward Rurangaranga, also  the former UPC chairman has passed on. According to family sources, Rurangaranga collapsed at around 1am in the wee hours of Tuesday morning at his home in Kitagata in Sheema district. The family says  succumbed to diabetes.

According to Jimmy Akena,  the UPC party president  Maj. Rurangaranga was an MP in the 1960s. Fought under Kikosi Maalum 1978-79 hence the Major. He added that Maj. Rurangaranga won his seat in the 1980 general election and was Minister of State for Local Government from 1981-85. Served as UPC National Chairman 2011-13.

He epitomized unwavering dedication and commitment in serving both his country and party.
