Lira United has unveiled their new coach Allan Kabonge, former Arua based Onduparaka FC manager.
The club’s chief Executive Officer Mark Anthony Atine is optimistic that Lira United FC will move to greater heights after signing the the tactician for a one year contract.
Kabonge is third among coaches in Uganda who elevate clubs to higher levels. He follows late Jesus Gaige Mulinde and Mbrarara City’s Richard Makumbi.
Kabonge replaces Richard Tamale who spent the last two seasons with Lira United Football club.
Atine disclosed that Kabonge was signed at a fee UGX 10 million, adding that he will enjoy other packages.
Kabonge managed to push to
the Azam Uganda premier league Onduparaka FC in the 2015/2016 season and Masavu FC in 2016/2017 season.
He says there is talent in Northern Uganda and no doubt, he will make sure Lira United plays in the Azam Premier League before leaving the club.
Lira United failed to qualify for the AZAM Uganda Premier League but maintained a position among the 12 teams that qualified in the Elgon Region for the FUFA’s Big League for the oncoming season 2017/2018 that kicks off in August.
