Otuke Resident District Commissioner John Wafula has said a few individuals who hail from the district but currently living in Lira district are the reason Balalo cattle grazers are currently in Otuke. The RDC made the revelation yesterday.
Balalo herdsmen recently entered the district with over 300 heads cattle which they are grazing in Ogor subcounty. This caused panic among the residents who called for their immediate withdrawal.
Wafula said there are two individuals who he only identified as Otim and Oleng who he said allegedly took UG shs10.5 million from the Balalo herdsmen to hire out the grazing land.
Recently, Otuke district local leaders resolved to push out the Balalo herdsmen.
